David Goffin fired Belgium into the semi-finals of the Davis Cup with a convincing defeat of Paolo Lorenzi on Sunday (April 9). <br /> <br />Goffin produced a series of impressive shots to overwhelm the Italian and close out the match 6-3, 6-3, 6-2 in front of a raucous home crowd in Charleroi to give Belgium an unassailable 3-1 lead in the tie. <br /> <br />Steve Darcis had beaten Lorenzi on Friday (April 7) when Goffin also defeated Andreas Seppi to give Belgium a 2-0 lead. <br /> <br />The Italians fought back on Saturday (April 8) with a five-set doubles win, but Goffin's win means the Belgians go on to face Australia in a home tie in the semi-finals in September.
