D. Cherwin & His Orchestra - Happy Little Tune

2017-04-09 2 Dailymotion

Despite the credits this actually was a side by Justin Ring and his Orchestra. Hardly anything is known about him. Rust states in his Dance Band Discography that he was a pianist, arranger and director for Pathé (Perfect) during 1930 and 1931, eventually for Decca in 1934. This lovely side was recorded in 1931, featuring a vocal by Harold 'Scrappy' Lambert. This song has a strange resemblance with a totally unrelated tune, an excerpt from "Loulou et les Boys", a French comédie musicale (a musical style in-between operetta and musical), a work co-composed by Georges Sellers and Michel Emer in 1933, and staged the same year with Miss Éliane de Creus in the lead role.
