Scuffles broke out between police and hundreds of people taking part in a counter-protest against a demonstration organised by the far-right, anti-Muslim group PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West) in Groningen, Sunday. Police officers on horseback used batons on counter-protesters, which reportedly included members of the GroenLinks party.
