A passenger jet headed for Las Vegas was forced to carry out an emergency landing at Manchester Airport after a suspected technical fault was discovered.<br /><br />Thomas Cook Airlines flight MT2718 took off from Manchester but the pilot decided to return as the aircraft neared the Irish Sea.<br /><br />Fire engines were scrambled to the runway but the aircraft landed safely.<br /><br />All 283 passengers on board the Airbus A330-200 were taken to the terminal.
