Every January 9, millions of devotees of the Black Nazarene, a life-size statue of Jesus Christ, go to the old Manila district of Quiapo to join a day-long religious parade. The objective is to touch the statue, as they believe it has miraculous powers. In 2015, around 5.5 million attended, according to Red Cross.
