These crabs use sponges to camouflage themselves

An interesting video has emerged of crabs placing sponges on their shells in order to blend in with the bottom of the ocean.<br /><br />The footage, shot in 2016 off Pulau Tomia, Indonesia, shows Decorator Crabs sporting two different types of sponges on their carapaces. <br /><br />According to reports, sponge crabs are able to cut off pieces of living sponges to trim them and use them as portable shelters.
