<p>US Vice President Mike Pence’s motorcade temporarily caused traffic gridlock in Honolulu on Monday, April 24, during a visit to Hawaii’s Hickam Air Force Base.</p><p>H-1 and H-3 freeways were shut down as the vice president was transported to the base, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser</a> and KHON 2</a> reported.</p><p>This footage shows a glimpse of the gridlock near H-3.</p><p>Pence’s Hawaii visit came at the end of an Asia-Pacific trip, during which he stopped by South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Australia and American Samoa. The trip was cut short by a day due to political issues in the US</a>, including a new tax reform plan and a new spending package.</p><p>If the spending package is not passed before Friday, the government may shut down, according to CBS</a>.</p><br />
