Water Sprays From Manhole During Torrential Rain in Quito

<p>A torrential downpour hit Quito on Monday, April 24, and water sprayed from manholes as more than 13 neighbourhoods in the city were flooded.</p><p>This footage shows a manhole cover rocking back and forth as water shoots from it in all directions. “Heavy rains, hail, floods,” the uploader wrote. “Quito, every time we are surprised more.”</p><p>El Telegrafo</a> reported that more than 13 sectors of the city were flooded, including La Carolina, La Republica, Inigo, and Carapungo. Footage on the El Telegrafo Ecuador Twitter account</a> shows at least two people who were trapped in a flooded car along Avenida 10 de Agosto being rescued. They were reportedly taken to the hospital suffering hypothermia.</p><p>Elsewhere in Quito, at least three trees collapsed in the downpour, and one of them, in La Carolina, fell on a vehicle, El Comercio</a> reported.</p><br />
