It was a heartbreaking piece of television… watching Jimmy Kimmel detail the terrifying ordeal his newborn son had to endure.<br /><br />He late night talk show host couldn’t hide his emotion as he explained what he and his wife went through. He said their son, William Billy Kimmel was born with a heart disease and had to undergo open heart surgery.<br /><br />The baby was taken to Children’s Hospital where he received cardiac surgery, and thankfully, as Jimmy puts it, the operation was a success.<br /><br />Kimmel called it the longest three hours of his life, but it was a success.<br />Jimmy went on to thank the hospital staff by name and urged his viewers to support their efforts.<br /><br />It’s obviously the kind of thing no parent should have to endure… but we’re just glad we can report that things are going well.<br /><br />Jimmy showed an image of his son and managed to crack a joke. <br /><br />He said: poor kid, not only did he get a bad heart but he got my face.<br />
