By now, we know Emma Stone had to politely decline a high schooler’s promposal after he made an elaborate YouTube video that went viral, but that doesn’t mean Emma didn’t sort of attend in spirit.

According to the Daily Mail, Emma still sent the high schooler, Jacob Staudenmaier, a corsage and boutonniere before his Prom with a handwritten note that said, “Jacob, a little something for you and your lucky date tomorrow… Have a great time! Much love, Emma Stone.”

Emma has been gracious throughout the entire event, which has netted the high school kid quite a bit of national exposure.

It was revealed on Good Morning America that Emma initially declined the invite to be a teenager’s date by saying, “I’m in London working, but I hope you have the best time at prom, and I’m grateful you thought of me. Thank you.”

Maybe now this fad will die with the flowers.
