<p>A series of thunderstorms brought heavy rains and flash flooding to southwest Louisiana, particularly around the Lafayette region, on Wednesday, May 3.</p><p>This footage shows heavy rain and flooding in Rayne</a>, about 17 miles from Lafayette.</p><p>According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles</a>, four to eight inches of rain had fallen over southwestern and central Louisiana by 5:17 pm Wednesday.</p><p>Similar bad weather was reported in other parts of the South and Midwest.</p><br />
