<p>Severe storms brought heavy rains and damaging straight-line winds to Virginia Beach, Virginia, early Friday, May 5, leaving several areas under water and around 2,000 people without power for over an hour, according to local reports</a>.</p><p>A WAVY report</a> said businesses and homes were damaged and trees came down as the winds swept through. The Virginia Beach oceanfront area saw significant damage.</p><p>The video here shows cars driving through floodwaters at the corner of Old Forge Road and South Plaza Trail in Virginia Beach. It was shared by a Facebook page called ‘Stop the Flooding NOW,’ which is dedicated to sharing images of flooding in the area and calls on local authorities to provide adequate flood protections.</p><br />
