<p>India launched a communication satellite from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh on May 5.</p><p>The Indian government said the satellite will hopefully improve telecommunication and broadcasting services in neighbouring South Asian countries, such as Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan</a>. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi</a> said the satellite was a “gift” to those countries and was an “example of true friendship and cooperation.”</p><br />
