<p>A refugee on Manus Island posed a question to Australian parliamentarians on May 8 asking whether they would vote to close the offshore detention centres on Manus and Nauru.</p><p>Amir, who said he was granted a positive refugee status and has been residing on Manus for almost four years, submitted a video question to Q&A – a panel program featured on ABC on Monday nights. Sitting next to Greens Senator Nick McKim, who visited the island to investigate the Good Friday Shootings</a>, he addressed his question to Liberal Member Dan Tehan and Labor Senator Lisa Singh who were guests on the show that evening.</p><p>His question did not make it to air but was posted on McKim’s social media after the program.</p><br />
