<p>The Iraqi Federal Police said on May 11 that its forces had advanced into the north of Mosul city, days after opening a new front in that area in their fight against Islamic State.</p><p>Amid the advances, thousands of people have been fleeing, with more than 20,000 leaving areas to the north of the city in recent days.</p><br />
