Charlie Hunnam is playing a legendary English character as “King Arthur” in his highly anticipated new flick, but his inspiration for the character may surprise you. <br /><br />Hunnam got hyped up for his medieval battle scenes after watching a much more modern warrior, and an Irishman to boot! The Notorious Conor McGregor. <br /><br />According to TMZ, before Hunnam conducted make believe sword fights on sets, he tells RedBulletin.com he “thought an enormous amount about Conor McGregor… Conor McGregor was somebody that I drew a lot of inspiration from and that Guy Richie and I discussed a lot.” <br /><br />These days, the UFC Octagon is one of the only places that showcases intense hand-to-hand combat, and we suppose it does mimic the ferocity of Old English battles… Except, of course, it’s not a fight to the death. <br /><br />Anyways, we’re sure McGregor will get the news that his fighting style influenced a character in a blockbuster movie… Which is just what he needs – an ego boost. <br />
