On Wednesday, Amazon announced new versions of its Fire tablet.<br />The Fire 7 is priced at $50, and the Fire HD 8 is $10 less than its previous model at $80.<br />The new features of the 7 include a sleek, lighter designer, a more vibrant display, and an hour more of battery life.<br />The Fire 8 is essentially the same as before but offers a sharper 8-inch, 1280 x 800 display, 1.5 GB of RAM, and up to 12 hours of battery life.<br />A Kids Edition Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 will also become available and offer a year-long subscription to Amazon's FreeTime unlimited content service.<br />The company is now fourth in overall market share due to the tablets' affordability and sales occurring when the market for traditional tablets slowed.
