The previous day a tornado spun through the city killing at least one person and injuring dozens, as reported by local TV station KOCO News 5</a>.</p><p>At least 40 homes were destroyed and another 50 to 75 homes were heavily damaged, according to KOCO News 5.</p><p>Oklahoma station News 9 reported</a> 53-year-old Gene “Bo” Mikles, Jr. was killed when his car was picked up by the wind and dropped.</p><p>A NWS thunderstorm and heavy rainfall warning</a> remained in effect for the region on May 18.</p><p>This footage, from May 17, shows destroyed buildings south of Elk City from the vantage point of a car.</p><br />
