Roger Ailes, the founder and former chairman and CEO of Fox News has passed away.<br /><br />The TV executive was 77 years old, and his death comes less than a year after he resigned from Fox Networks over sexual harassment allegations.<br /><br />His wife Elizabeth broke the news to Drudge with a statement saying that she is profoundly sad and heartbroken to report that her husband had passed away. She called him a loving husband to her, his son, and a loyal friend to many.<br /><br />She went on to call him a patriot, and said that he was profoundly grateful to live in a country that gave him so much opportunity to work hard, to rise, and to give back.<br /><br />TMZ reported that Ailes died after falling down and hitting his head at his Palm Beach Florida home eight days before.<br /><br />And sources say he had become unconscious and fell into a coma the on the morning he died. <br /><br />Ailes had just celebrated his 77th birthday.<br />
