<p>Over one thousand Char Dam pilgrims were stranded on May 19 after a massive landslide on a national highway in Northern India’s Uttarakhand.</p><p>The Times of India reported</a> the landslide damaged a 200-foot stretch of the highway, and despite the scale of it, there were no reported injuries.</p><p>The landslide left at least a thousand pilgrims stranded in the surrounding towns and villages, according to an NDTV report</a>. They were advised by authorities to remain in place until the roads were cleared or alternative passageways could be arranged.</p><p>Hindustan Times reported</a> the pilgrims were on their way to Badrinath temple.</p><br />
