<p>Two men were given 83 lashes</a> each outside a mosque in Aceh, Indonesia, on May 23, for the crime of gay sex.</p><p>The punishment was meted out before a crowd estimated at 2,500</a>.</p><p>Islamic laws against homosexuality were passed in Aceh in 2014. It is the only region of Indonesia to have such laws.</p><br />
