As part of our quest to take The What’s Underneath Project out of New York and into different cities around the world, this past December, we traveled to New Orleans to interview five black women from ages twenty-one to seventy-nine. Their stories shed light on the history and persistence of systemic racism in this country and illuminate our subjects' monumental beauty, strength and pride.
