Iraqi Forces Resume Operations Against IS in Old Mosul

<p>Severe fighting was reported between Iraqi forces and Islamic State militias on May 28 as operations resumed near the old city, according to Iraqi News</a>.</p><p>IS reportedly controlled only 5 percent of territories in west Mosul since the major offensive started, Iraqi media</a> reported, citing a military source.</p><p>The last remaining IS enclave includes the Old City center and three adjacent districts along the western bank of the Tigris river, Reuters reported</a>.</p><p>Local activists reported</a> that 15 civilians were killed including children and women in strikes in old Mosul.</p><p>This video was shared by the Iraqi Federal Police and is described as showing artillery bombardment targeting IS locations while storming old Mosul.</p><br />
