<p>Severe fighting was reported between Iraqi forces and Islamic State fighters on May 28 as operations resumed near Mosul’s Old City, according to Iraqi media reports</a>.</p><p>IS reportedly controls only 5 percent of territory in western Mosul since the major offensive started several months ago, Iraqi media</a> reported, citing a military source.</p><p>The last remaining IS enclave includes the Old City center and three adjacent districts along the western bank of the Tigris river, Reuters reported</a>.</p><p>Local activists said</a> 15 civilians were killed, including women and children, in air strikes in old Mosul.</p><br />
