The interceptor will be launched from California and the ICBM-like rocket will launch from the Marshall Islands. The interceptor works by hitting an incoming missile at high speed, but the system hasn’t always performed well — it’s only worked nine out of seventeen times.The U.S. test comes amid North Korea’s ongoing missile launches — they’ve tested eight missiles this year, including one with a range of around 2,500 miles, according to military analysts.
