Tom Cruise playing volleyball in Top Gun was a big deal in 1986… and it sounds like there will be a whole new crop of fans who will get to experience it for the first time when the sequel hits the screen.<br /><br />The 54 year old actor was walking the red carpet for his latest flick, The Mummy, when he was asked about the high flying movie.<br /><br />And he said there’s gonna be very fast jets, an aircraft carrier or two, and there may be a volleyball scene.<br /><br />He mentioned that he ‘s going to start filming it probably next year. But he did confirm that it’s happening.<br /><br />But get this: it won’t be called Top Gun 2. He wants it to be called Top Gun: Maverick.<br /><br />For those of you who don’t know, he played a fighter pilot whose call sign was Maverick, so we guess it kinda makes sense.<br /><br />Let us know what you think.<br />
