<br /> <p>Dramatic footage of a burning turbine was captured and uploaded onto Facebook by Cassie O’Brien on Wednesday, June 7. According to the uploader, “the smoke was visible for over 30 miles.”</p><p>Local media reported</a> that a wind turbine from the Salt Fork Wind Facility located in the Texas Panhandle, East of Groom, caught fire around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7. At the time of this writing, officials in the region say they are still working to determine the cause of the fire.</p><p>The fire was also a wake-up call for regional fire departments as they were not equipped to handle the turbine fire, News Channel 10 reported</a>.</p><p>In the video we can see a wind turbine burning with fiery debris falling down, while huge plumes of black smoke billow.
