First Ukrainians Arrive in EU After Visa-Free Travel Takes Effect

<br /> <p>The first Ukrainians to travel to an EU country without a visa arrived at Prague airport on Sunday morning, June 11. The new deal, which allows Ukrainians to travel in the Schengen treaty areas for up to 90 days without a visa, began at midnight.</p><p>Many had gathered in Kiev’s European Square</a> on Saturday night for a countdown to celebrate the arrangement. The rally was addressed by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko</a>, who said the event signaled “the final break of our state with the Russian Empire.”</p><p>Footage by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty interviews some of the passengers on the flight from Odessa on their arrival in Prague, and shows the arrival of passengers from Kyiv in Brussels.</p><br />
