<p>A group</a> dressed in “handmaid” uniforms from a TV show based on Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale sat in the front row during a committee meeting at the Ohio Statehouse on June 13, in protest against Senate Bill 145</a>.</p><p>The bill seeks to outlaw certain abortion procedures.</p><p>The group was dressed in the red uniforms of women who are forced to bear children for other people’s families, as described in the speculative-fiction novel.</p><p>The protest follows</a> similar Handmaid’s Tale-themed demonstrations in Texas and Missouri.</p><p>This video shows a group dressed in the uniforms in the Ohio Statehouse as a committee meeting starts. it also shows interviews with NARAL organizers.
