Researchers Plan to Relocate Beluga Whale Stranded in New Brunswick River

<p>Canadian marine biologists say they are working on a plan to relocate a solitary beluga whale that’s been seen in the Nepisiguit River in Bathurst, New Brunswick.</p><p>In a Facebook post</a>, the Marine Animal Response Society said they were alerted to the straying creature on June 2 and began working on a plan.</p><p>Robert Michaud, scientific director of GREMM, a marine mammal research group based in Quebec, told CBC</a> it was hoped the whale could be taken to the Cacouna region in the St Lawrence River.</p><p>Marine Animal Response Society said that, while marine mammals can survive in fresh water, they are not well adapted to such conditions in the long term.
