In 2013 Lorde exploded on the scene with that song "Royals," but despite her no.1 status on the charts, online trolls tried to rip any crown from her ego.<br /><br />The New Zealand native tells NME about haters attacking her physical appearance Online, saying "it rocked my foundations and could have fucked me, you know? I remember being made aware of my looks and my body in a way that I had never been."<br /><br />Due to her sudden rise in fame, Lorde reportedly believes some people immediately tried to tear her down.<br /><br />She tells NME, "they were like 'fuck her, she's got really far apart eyes.' I remember being like 'whoa! How did I get all this way without knowing I had far-apart eyes? Just weird shit like that."<br /><br />Lorde's fame has since mellowed out, which she reportedly says is "cool for me. I suck at being famous. And that's fine."<br /><br />Still, she has a new album, a couple Grammys, and a nice sense of confidence and comfort with herself. Sorry haters, we think she won.<br />
