Police said there were “a number of casualties,” BBC</a> reported.</p><p>In an incident described by the Muslim Council of Britain</a> as a “violent manifestation of Islamophobia”, armed police marched onto Finsbury Park after a van slammed into pedestrians leaving a mosque.</p><p>Metropolitan Police confirmed</a> one person was killed, another eight taken to hospital and two were treated on scene. The 48-year-old driver of the van was detained by members of the public and put into police custody.
