Yeah, Lionel Richie could be Dancing On The Ceiling after rumors started swirling that he could be the next judge on American Idol.<br /><br />TMZ reports that AI producers have their eyes on the singer to fill in a spot at the judge’s table because his legendary music career gives him credibility and a he has a knack for honing in on what’s popular.<br /><br />Plus, let’s be honest… who doesn’t like Lionel Richie?<br /><br />There’s still no evidence that the show has formally offered up a contract to the singer… and a lot of people are wondering if they still have a budget, considering they paid Katy Perry a cool 25 million for her.<br /><br />For those of you that don’t know, Richie’s been in the game since the mid-60’s when he became a singer and saxophonist with the Commodores. And he dropped his latest album a few years back in 2012.<br /><br />If Lionel does join the cast, it would be a big boost for the show.<br /><br />They are currently working on signing Ryan Seacrest to host the show, paying his between 10 and 15 million. <br />
