ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) disqualified Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) lawmaker Shaukat Bhatti elected from provincial assembly constituency (PP-4) in Rawalpindi for holding a fake degree, ARY News reported on Tuesday. <br /> <br />A five member bench of the ECP, headed by chief election commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza, announced the verdict on an election petition filed by Iftkhar Kayani, a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate from the constituency, sought the lawmaker’s disqualification for submitting fake degree with his nomination papers. <br /> <br />Bhatti, who was elected from Rawalpindi, was alleged to have submitted a fake degree in Business Administration. <br /> <br />Earlier, a criminal case was registered against him on a complaint of the ECP for submitting the fake degree, which is pending decision at a local court in Punjab. He submitted the bachelor’s degree issued by the University of the Punjab which actually belonged to Shaukat Aziz Sheikh an official at a hospital in Islamabad.
