Belgium has avoided a serious attack, its Interior Minister said on Wednesday after a suspected suicide bomber planning to explode a large bomb caused only a minor explosion in Brussels’ central station late on Tuesday. The suspected attacker was shot dead by soldiers patrolling the station. Reportedly, he was 37-year-old man from Molenbeek, the inner city borough has a large immigrant population and was home to some of those involved in Islamic State attacks on Paris and Brussels in 2015 and 2016.

RT LIVE http://rt.com/on-air

Subscribe to RT! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=RussiaToday

Like us on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/RTnews
Follow us on Twitter http://twitter.com/RT_com
Follow us on Instagram http://instagram.com/rt
Follow us on Google+ http://plus.google.com/+RT
Listen to us on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/rttv

RT (Russia Today) is a global news network broadcasting from Moscow and Washington studios.
