Five Airlines Put Deposits On Supersonic Passenger Jet

<p><b> by Anthony Falco</b></p><p>Are you ready for transatlantic flight in under three hours?<p>Boom</a>, a startup founded by a group of aviation and technology professionals from places like SpaceX and Amazon, says five airlines</a> have taken 76 options for its newly unveiled supersonic passenger jet. However, they’ll have to wait as the $200 million plane is still in development, with earliest deliveries scheduled for 2023.</p><p>The Boom jet will reach almost 1500 mph, which is two and a half times faster than current subsonic airliners.  The design features delta wings and engines without afterburners to save fuel.</p><p>The company</a> just showed off a one-third scale prototype at the Paris Air Show, the world’s largest showcase for the aviation industry.
