<p>A brush fire in the Santa Clarita Valley near Los Angeles rapidly spread to 870 acres on June 25, causing several areas to be evacuated</a>.</p><p>The Placerita Fire was first reported</a> as a half-acre brush fire that began at about 1 pm on Sunday. By 9 pm, the fire had spread</a> to nearly 900 acres with 50 percent containment. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, one structure</a> was destroyed in the fire.
