Maria Menounos announced on Monday that is stepping down as co-anchor of E! News after she was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

She has held the position since 2015 after joining the network in 2014.

In an interview with People magazine, Menounos said that she underwent surgery last month to remove a golf-ball-sized tumor discovered in February. While the neurosurgeon was able to remove 99.9 percent of the tumor, which was benign, she was told there’s a six to seven percent chance it will return. Menounos says her face is still numb from the operation, but she is expected to make a full recovery within a month. Menounos is also caring for her mother, who has stage-four brain cancer.
