<p>Islamic State fighters were cornered in a small area of Mosul’s Old City as the Iraqi military edged closer to retaking the entire city on Monday, July 3.</p><p>On Monday, police said</a> that the military had taken control of the Bab al-Sarai district on the western banks of the Tigris, as well as a transportation area inside the Old City.
