A Bahraini court has more than doubled the prison term for the country's Shia opposition leader. Last year Sheikh Ali Salman was sentenced to four years in prison, for inciting hatred. Under the latest ruling, Salman's term has been extended to nine years on charges including trying to overthrow the regime by force.
