A sunspot has rotated into view on the sun and appears to be growing quickly. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured video of the magnetic field on the sun from July 5-11.

Sunspots are common, but are less frequent in the “solar minimum,” a period of low solar activity during the sun’s 11-year cycle, according to NASA. The sunspot in the video is the only one to be pinpointed at the moment.

While the sunspot appears small, NASA said the dark core is larger than Earth.
