<p>Dramatic dashcam footage was released of Santa Barbara County Sheriff officers attempting to access a summer camp during the Whittier wildfire</a> that ravaged the region on July 8.</p><p>In a statement</a>, the sheriff’s office and other emergency services responders spoke about their work to evacuate the Circle V Ranch Camp and the 88 campers and 26 staff and counsellors in residence.</p><p>Over a four hour period, search and rescue teams navigated the civilians to safety through smoke and flames. This video shows a short section of the rescue operation.</p><p>While the campers made it out safely, Circle V Ranch said</a> critical infrastructure was destroyed during the fire and they would be closed for the remainder of the 2017 summer.
