<p>Julio Borges, president of Venezuela’s National Assembly and a leading opposition figure, was one of more than seven million people who cast a vote in an unofficial referendum on July 16.</p><p>A woman was reportedly</a> shot dead while in a line to vote in the referendum, in which voters rejected a citizens assembly proposed by President Nicolas Maduro that would have the power to dismiss the national assembly and rewrite the constitution.</p><p>The referendum had no legal power.
