British Couple Ties the Knot at Antarctic Research Station

<p>At an intimate ceremony at Rothera Research station on Saturday, July 15, two polar field guides from the UK became the first couple in history to get married in British Antarctic territory.</p><p>Julie Baum and Tom Sylvester were married in a specially designed chapel by a magistrate from the BAT Government, an organisation based in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.</p><p>After the ceremony, the couple posed for a series of photos outside in temperatures of outside of -9 degrees.</p><p>This is the first marriage since since the BAT marriage law was reformed in 2016.
