<p><b> by Vocativ Staff</b></p><p>These monkeys are making themselves at home, while making locals go bananas.<p>Rhesus macaque monkeys are running wild across Central Florida. The pesky primates are showing up in front yards, by the side of the road and even on rooftops.</p><p>Way back in the 1930’s, the monkeys were imported to Silver Springs State Park in Marion County to add more ‘scenery’ to its boat tour.</p><p>But as their population got bigger, some escaped, and they have been breeding ever since.</p><p>Locals are both curious and annoyed by their new neighbors.</p><p>Some steal food like oranges and bananas, but others can get more aggressive if you stare at them directly.</p><p>These monkeys don’t mess around.</p></p><br /> <p>The post Wild Monkeys Run Amok In Central Florida</a> appeared first on Vocativ</a>.</p>
