A 20-year-old woman has suffered serious injuries after her car plunged down an iconic cliff in Canada's east coast, high above the Atlantic Ocean. Authorities said the vehicle breached the gate at the popular Signal Hill in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador on Sunday. The driver either jumped or was ejected just before her car crashed partway down the rocky cliff, according to authorities. The vehicle nosedived over the rock face just below historic Cabot Tower, coming to rest 90 metres down the 250-metre cliff. The woman was rescued from the cliff face by emergency crews.

RT LIVE http://rt.com/on-air

Subscribe to RT! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=RussiaToday

Like us on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/RTnews
Follow us on Twitter http://twitter.com/RT_com
Follow us on Instagram http://instagram.com/rt
Follow us on Google+ http://plus.google.com/+RT
Listen to us on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/rttv

RT (Russia Today) is a global news network broadcasting from Moscow and Washington studios.
