Wood Cutter <br /> <br />Once upon a time there was a wood cutter in a village. <br />He is good a person. He never lied. <br />One day he went to the forest and started to cut a tree. <br />When cutting the tree the axe slipped and fell in to a well. <br />As the axe gone he felt very sad. <br />He got down from the trunk and started crying. <br />By then the water goddess appeared. <br />“why are you crying dear.?” The goddess asked. <br />He answered, “ my axe fell into the well.” <br />“don’t worry dear I will get it for you,” said the goddess and disappeared. After some time the goddess got a gold axe. He said, “ it’s not mine.” The goddess told okay, gone back and got silver axe. <br />The wood cutter said, “ this is also not mine.” <br />The goddess went back and got his axe this time. As soon as he saw the axe he said, “ yeah! this is mine.” <br />The goddess appreciated his sincerity. <br />The goddess said, “ as you didn’t desire of what is not yours and for your sincerity I am giving you the gold and silver axes as gift.”
