<p>Nicolas Cage’s appearance at the 13th annual Eurasia International Film Festival in Astana, Kazakhstan, has, in 24 short hours, become the type of meme gold</a> that brightens almost anyone’s day.</p><p>A picture of Cage in traditional Kazakh clothing — and sporting a faraway stare to match — posted to Facebook</a> and Twitter</a> July 23, quickly became the focus of attention for meme makers. Cage was soon cast as a tragic comic book character</a> and a companion for sad Ben Affleck</a> among other identities.</p><p>However, footage and an image shared by Instagram user, and Astana resident, @nat1997666</a> shows that — despite that dead eyed stare — Cage is having a fine time in the city.</p><p>The image shows him posing with the nat1997666, while video footage shows shows Cage on stage saying he’s having a “great time” during his visit to Astana.
