Stop, Chop, And Roll At The 2017 World Lumberjack Championships

<p><b> by Vocativ Staff</b></p><p>More than 100 competitors from around the world gathered in Wisconsin this weekend for the 2017 World Lumberjack Championships.<p>Men and women participated in 32 events over the course of three days, testing their chopping, climbing, and balancing skills at every level.</p><p>One of the competition’s highlights is a race between two competitors who must climb a 90-foot pole in spiked boots and leather straps.</p><p>Stirling Hart won the Men’s Standing Chopping and went on to win the Men’s Springboard. In the Women’s Division, Nancy Zalewski won the Single Buck.</p><p>The annual event, which was first held in 1960, wrapped up on July 22.
