Four people died after a small plane crashed on a Utah highway killing two couples but narrowly missing cars as it barrelled across the lanes through a gap in traffic.<br /><br />At about 1 p.m., the plane, reportedly flying south from a nearby municipal airport, failed to gain altitude and plunged 300 feet, hitting the centre of freeway I-15, where it burst into flames.<br /><br />Witnesses said the plane appeared to be out of control when it nose-dived onto the freeway. <br /><br />No injuries were reported on the ground.<br />
